"Loopmasters tenth
release, Electro Breaks, takes the producer through some warpy soundscapes
enabling Reason users to significantly enhance their electro tunes. This is a
solid CD and as we have come to expect from Loopmasters, delivers in quality,
and would keep many a producer happy for quite a while. The CD comes in the
usual formats – Rex Loops, NN-XT patches, WAV loops and one-shot samples,
includes a second CD of WAV samples for easy auditioning. Sounds are mostly
stereo, high quality and meticulously organized and labeled. In fact, their
organization of folders has become quite a strength, and makes finding sounds
fairly easy (Not like my own personal refill library).
Main folders are : Bass sounds and loops, Drums kits and loops, Instrument
sounds and loops, Stabs & SFX, and Vibes and atmos. Bass sounds include some
live sounding bass guitars, but mainly Bass synths with a sharp edge sound. Rex
Loops start from 130BPM and it would have been an added bonus to have some
slower loops. The drum section is a big plus. You will undoubtedly enjoy these
kits and loops – starting from 120BPM – and are indeed inspirational, as
marketed. A definite hard underground feel yet many of the loops include a
melodic touch, which also adds some atmosphere. For those interested in just the
sounds, the kit folder shouldn’t disappoint either.
Lastly, the Vibes and Atmoshere have some extremely cool VOX files. Be sure
to check them out! Overall, this disc would benefit any producers who are
looking for some great twisted textures and sound elements in their Electro,
Breakbeat, Trance, or even House recordings."
